Meet Dr. Sanchita Mehra, Periodontist

Dr. Sanchita Mehra is dedicated to working enthusiastically with her colleagues to ensure each patient receives comprehensive and professional care. Her goals for patients include halting the progression of periodontal disease, improving oral function and aesthetics, and enhancing overall quality of life.

Dr. Sanchita Mehra is a Board-Certified Periodontist who began her dental journey early as an intern at her childhood dental office in Long Island, New York. She graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor of Arts and then pursued a Master of Biomedical Sciences at Rutgers University. Following her passion for dentistry, she earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California. During her time there, Dr. Mehra developed a keen interest in periodontal surgery. She further specialized by completing a certificate in Advanced Periodontology and a Master of Science in Biomedical Implants and Tissue Engineering at the University of Southern California.
 
Dr. Mehra specializes in various periodontal treatments, including:
 
  • Treatment of Periodontal Disease: Managing advanced periodontal disease to restore oral health.
  • Gum Recession Treatment: Addressing receding gums to protect tooth roots and prevent decay.
  • Gum Grafting: Restoring gum tissue when roots are exposed due to gum recession.
  • Bone Grafting: Rebuilding jaw bone volume lost to gum disease, encouraging natural bone growth.
  • Crown Lengthening: Improving gum tissue health for better dental function and aesthetics.
  • Scaling & Root Planing: Preventative and therapeutic treatment to manage gum disease.
  • Pinhole Tissue Graft Procedure: A minimally invasive technique to correct gum recession without grafting tissue, scalpels, or stitches.

 

Outside of her practice, Dr. Mehra enjoys dancing, photography, & traveling.
